Current state, in one line

This site can use Google Analytics 4 to understand how it's used — but only if you say yes. It is switched off by default, no analytics cookie is set until you actively accept, and declining is exactly as easy as accepting. No advertising, remarketing, or cross-site tracking of any kind is used.

Essential / site operation

This is a static site — pages are pre-built rather than generated per visit, and there is no account system or login. Beyond whatever your browser or the hosting provider handles as a matter of course when serving any web page, this site's own code does not set cookies to operate normally.

Cloudflare Turnstile

Active on connected forms. This site uses Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce spam submissions on forms that are connected to a real backend (see Privacy Policy). Turnstile can set a short-lived cookie or token as part of that check. This is a security measure to confirm you are a person, not a tracking or advertising cookie, and it only runs on pages with a live form.

Analytics

Draft, pending owner/legal review. This site can use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly how they found the site — nothing more targeted than that. It is used only with your permission.

Off by default. No analytics cookie is set, and no request is made to Google, until you actively click "Accept analytics" on the banner shown on your first visit.
Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting. The banner's "Reject analytics" button is the same size and prominence as "Accept analytics" — declining is a single click, and the site works identically either way.
No pre-ticked boxes. Nothing is assumed on your behalf.
Google Tag Manager is not used. This site loads Google's standard GA4 script directly — there is no tag-management container of any kind.
No advertising, remarketing, or cross-site tracking. GA4 is configured for basic usage measurement only — no advertising features, no remarketing audiences, no enhanced conversions, no data shared with Google Ads.
No Meta Pixel or other social/advertising pixels. No Facebook/Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or similar third-party tracking pixel is used anywhere on this site.
If you accept, Google will receive standard GA4 analytics data (pages viewed, approximate location from IP address, device/browser type, and similar) under Google's own privacy policy, which this site does not control.

Embedded or external services

This site does not currently embed third-party widgets (video players, social media embeds, or similar) that would set their own cookies. It links out to external sites — council pages, press coverage, evidence documents — but does not embed their content directly.

Pagefind search

The search feature on this site runs entirely in your browser against a static index. It does not set cookies, does not send your search terms anywhere, and involves no third-party search service.

Managing cookies

Your choice is remembered on this device (stored in your browser's local storage, not a cookie itself) so you aren't asked again on every visit. To change your mind:

Use the "Change cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page, or on this page, to bring the banner back and choose again.
If you switch from "Accept" to "Reject", this site stops loading Google Analytics from that point on and clears the two Google Analytics cookies it can reach (_ga and a second, property-specific cookie). This does not retroactively delete anything Google may already have recorded against those cookies before you withdrew consent — that is a genuine limitation of what a website can do from the browser, not something this site is choosing not to fix.
Your browser's own settings also let you block or delete cookies generally, for this or any site, at any time, independent of the control above.
